Which Ghost Controls Models This Applies To

Ghost Controls access control components span three main generations, and they are not interchangeable. The original AXXP series used a 3-wire signal path from the keypad or receiver to the control board. The later TSS1 and AXDP systems switched to a 4-wire config with a separate ground drain for the radio receiver, which cured most of the phantom-triggering that plagued early installs near power lines. The current generation, sold on the Ghost Controls battery and solar kits, uses a sealed receiver module that pairs with their 433 MHz transmitters.

Here’s the gotcha we see in Murphy regularly: the connector looks identical across generations, but pin 2 is signal on AXXP and ground sense on TSS1. Plug an older keypad into a newer board and you’ll get a gate that opens once, then locks out the control board until you power-cycle it.
