Meet the Murphy Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Murphy

We’re not a rotating cast of subcontractors. The Murphy crew is made up of four people who work together every week, know the gate hardware on the properties around Plano, Wylie, and Parker, and answer to Adrian Vance directly. Between us we’ve set limit switches on slide gates behind the high school, rebuilt hinges on ranch-style driveway gates in Maxwell Creek, and pulled more photo-eye wiring than we care to count. What holds us together is simple: write the price down before touching a tool, leave a photo record, and stand behind the work for a full year.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair Murphy for eight years, starting on the commercial side before moving to residential and light commercial service in the Murphy area. He’s the first person we send when a gate won’t travel, a motor hums without moving, or an access controller has stopped talking to the keypad. He holds a LiftMaster dealer-level certification and has been through FAAC and BFT factory training, which means he’s the one who reprograms board logic on second-generation operators rather than quoting a full replacement. Outside work, Marcus rebuilds two-stroke dirt bikes in his garage. He says it’s the same diagnostic discipline, just louder.

Dana R. – Senior Installer

Dana leads our new gate and gate motor installations, including the welding and fabrication work that comes up when an older post has shifted or a bracket was never sized right in the first place. She came to us six years ago from a structural welding background, and she’s certified in MIG and stick welding for mild steel and ornamental iron. On installs, Dana handles the layout, the post setting, and the final swing or slide alignment so the gate doesn’t bind at either end of travel. She keeps a running list of every gate she’s built or hung in Collin County and can tell you which ones have needed a service call since. Her dog, a border collie named Torque, gets named after her second-favorite topic, which is torque specs on post anchors.

Priya S. – Service Coordinator

Priya is the voice on the phone when you call (469) 613-2832, including at 2 a.m. when a gate has failed and a car is stuck in the driveway. She dispatches the technicians, keeps the job documentation in order, and makes sure the written price is in your hand before Marcus or Dana starts work. She’s been in the Texas gate and access control industry for over a decade and can usually narrow down what’s wrong before a truck rolls, just from the sounds and symptoms a homeowner describes. Priya also manages the 365-Day Done Right Promise follow-ups. She’s the reason you get a call a year later asking if anything needs a second look. She grows her own tomatoes and keeps trying to convince the rest of the crew that a better salsa recipe is a competitive advantage.

Eli V. – Apprentice

Eli joined Vance Gate Repair Murphy two years ago and works alongside Marcus on service calls and with Dana on installs. He’s in his final year of an electrical apprenticeship program, which is directly relevant to the low-voltage wiring, safety loops, and photo-eye circuits on modern automated gates. His note-taking is exhaustive, which is exactly what we want from someone whose job includes supporting the photo documentation on every visit. On a recent call in Murphy, Eli was the one who spotted a photo-eye that had been bumped so slightly out of alignment that the gate would only reverse in bright afternoon sun, when the reflection was strongest. That kind of observation is why he’s on the truck. He also holds the current bench-press record for the shop, a fact he brings up only when someone suggests he doesn’t look strong enough to set a 300-pound gate panel.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

Adrian Vance started Vance Gate Repair Murphy in 2014 after years of commercial access-control work, where every change to a system had to be documented or the next technician couldn’t trust the wiring diagram. That habit carried over. The Haven Standard means every job gets a written price before any work starts, under Clause 1, and a photographed record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was installed, under Clause 4. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every completed job, no exceptions. When you work with Marcus, Dana, Priya, or Eli, you’re getting the same standard Adrian holds across all ten of his home-service brands. One name on the truck, one standard on the invoice, and a real person on the phone any hour you call.
